Meet the staff of Reliable Land Title

License Title Agent Cheryl Fike and Closing Assistant Naomi O’Connor

Buying a new home is one of life’s most gratifying and expensive experiences. As homebuyers approach the big day of closing, however, the legal and financial details can be complicated and overwhelming. Do not overlook one of the most important steps in the entire process – the purchase of title insurance on your home.

The trusted and experienced team at Reliable Land Title Corporation is here to insure the title to the home you are buying is legally sound.

Cheryl Fike has decades of experience as a Closing Agent and is one of only a few Licensed Title Insurance Agents in Navarre. She is truly an expert in her field and works very hard to make sure your transaction closes on time and to your satisfaction. She is from a military family and came to Florida in 1975 where her dad retired from Hurlburt. She has called Navarre home since 1993.

Her favorite part of her job is helping people close on their dream home and/or sell or refinance at these amazingly low rates.

“I believe that it is important for people to feel confident that their most important purchase in their lifetime will be handled professionally and, most importantly, correctly,” Cheryl said.

Naomi O’Connor has lived in the Navarre area for 10 years and is Closing Assistant to Cheryl Fike. Naomi gathers information needed for your transaction including running down payoffs, termite reports, surveys, and so forth. She assists in preparing documents and all the other myriad details involved in a modern real estate closing. She worked for a period as a processor for a local lender then had a stint as a stay at home mom before jumping into the title business two years ago.

She says title insurance protects your money if it turns out the seller didn’t legally have the right to sell the property in the first place.

Her favorite part of her job is her co-workers. She says they all work together as a team and are always willing to help no matter how busy they are.

Naomi is a strong advocate for Reliable.

“You always want to work with companies that are trusted and have a good reputation in town,” she said. “That means they are doing something right, it provides stability for you as an employee, and makes you feel proud that you have the privilege of working at such a great place.”

Reliable Land Title has two offices, one at Harvest Village in Navarre and another in Pensacola at 600 South Palafox Street. Their commitment to homebuyers and the community is long-term.

“We pledge to serve our area with devotion and dedication, one property at a time,” said co-owner Scott Parsons.

Rely on Reliable Land Title when making the biggest purchase of your life

Buying a new home is one of life’s most gratifying and expensive experiences. As you approach the big day of closing, however, the legal and financial details can be complicated and overwhelming. Do not overlook one of the most important steps in the entire process – the purchase of title insurance on your home.

The trusted and experienced team at Reliable Land Title Corporation is here to insure the title to the home you are buying is legally sound.

Reliable Land Title was formed 21 years ago. Scott and Ann Parsons founded the company in 1999 to create a title and closing company with a local focus and national caliber expertise. Pam Purdy who is known in the area as one of the best closing agents in Florida came aboard at Reliable’s founding and has been key to its success. Cheryl Fike, who has a stellar reputation in the community, recently joined Reliable Land Title, and brings more than 30 years of closing agent experience to the team.

The title to real estate is essentially the right to a home. In order to create a title, research needs to be done and legal documents need to be filed. This process is very different from obtaining the title to a car, boat or mobile home. A real estate title is the evidence of the rights a person or other entity has to the ownership, possession and/or use of land. It is possible that someone other than the new owner may have a legal right to the property. If that right can be established, this person can claim that right and make demands on the owner about its use.

Imagine buying your dream home, closing the deal and then realizing the owner before you hadn’t paid property taxes for several years. Those taxes do not just disappear. They must be collected for the property and as the new owner, you are now responsible. The taxing entity could even take your home if no action is taken to pay these taxes.

Having a professional and experienced team navigate this for you will ensure that any legal obstacles have been removed. Reliable Land Title Corporation promptly provides accurate and dependable land title services in a friendly, personal manner. They are highly skilled, motivated, and bring almost two centuries of title experience to the table.

Team members regularly attend continuing education classes to make sure they have the latest information on practices and issues in the business. Ann and Scott have been awarded the Certified Land Title Closer Designation and Scott has earned the Certified Land Title Searcher designation as well. In addition, there are six state licensed title insurance agents on staff.

The title business is cyclical and can be rocky. You as a homebuyer should have complete confidence in the people you hire to help handle what could be the most expensive and complex transaction of your lifetime.
